Here is my Thanksgiving coin of the day...a mule from Carthage.

This coin of Maximianus is a mule with a reverse meant for Diocletian. The workshop for this issue for Maximianus was B...A was the first workshop reserved for the senior ruler. The letter in the left field is I (for Jovian) which was for Diocletian. Maximianus was in the family of Hercules, so his reverse has an H in the left field.

Galerius

IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG; Laureate head right.
SALVIS AVGG ET CAESS FEL KART; Carthage standing facing, head left, holding fruits in both hands; I in left field.

RIC VI Carthage 43a

Heliodromus

Isn't that RIC 43a for Galerius ? The bust looks more like Galerius than Maximianus.

Yes, you are completely right. I think this is the second time I have made the same error... ::)
