The arch is awesome, but the coin seems unofficial  ::) and the seller wants $500 for it.  ???

Very nice- haven't seen that type of arch before. Agree it looks unofficial and that it's a pretty solid asking price!

oops...I was looking at another he wanted $500 for...this one is only $375!  :D

That is interesting! If you haven't bought it yourself, would you mind sending me the link to the seller?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I managed to buy the coin here although at a reduced price :) The obverse legend is CONSTANTINVS IVN N?? so that along with the arch seems to make it official. The mintmark is also PA crescent RL.

lots of issues with this coin though. besides the style seeming a bit off, it has four turrets; reverse legend ending with AVGG; the bust looks like a laureate head only; and of course, the irregular arch.

I agree - it's an interesting coin with that dotted doorway, but has to be unofficial. I've seen a few Arles Virtvs Avgg/Caess without the expected doors that *might* be official, but on this one there's also.

- The style
- Missing star (hallmark of all Constantine's campgates)
- Avgg vs Caess

Thanks for the input! I made a typo and meant unofficial :-D
