I think that I posted these before in a group photo, but could not find the post. These were part of a small group of coins that seemed to have been hoarded together. Though I don't know, I speculate they were found in the Mid-East, since most were from the Alexandria mint. These were most interesting to me, since they have impressions of other coins on their surfaces. If I get around to it, I will post the other coins.

I also noted a reddish/violet patina tone for the coin from Alexandria.

It's amazing how the deposits held those impressions so well, even after the coins were separated.

On a much less impressive level it reminds me of these coins that just sold on eBay, evidentially part of an amalgamated group find, where you can at least see the coin outlines from the stacking. I bought the Genio, still in the mail, and will leave it the way it is.

I noticed those two coins on eBay, but did not bid. Yes, I wouldn't clean it either...details like that make a coin special. On another forum I posted a group of coins from Lyons with a heavy green patina which were probably deposited together and someone wandered into the topic from the US section and commented that I needed to clean the coins.  ::)

I coincidentally just spotted this coin in a group of junk coins. It has a similar patina with a bit of a coin impression and also looks to be from Alexandria...though I am not sure about the mintmark.
