Late Roman Bronze coins / Constantine I MARTI CONSERVATO...

I was going through my CNG wins and found this coin. I am thinking that it looks like Trier (RIC VI Trier 884); but Dr. Malcom Lyne thought London. I am wary of my own judgement in this circumstance and would like to crowdsource this.

History / Re: Maximinus--Daza not Daia

This is a local ski resort near me, named after the military guy (name kinda gives it away!) who had it created as a West Point training facility. They let us yokels go there midweek too.

Makes me think I should start calling Constantine "VC" since Trachala is too long of a nickname.  :)

Guilty - may have to start using Daza.

I just use Daia (Daza) because it's shorter and easier to type.

Also, Sutherland would agree with you.

History / Maximinus--Daza not Daia

This is a pet peeve of mine...but if you have to use the D word, it's Daza not Daia. Lactantius incorrectly used Daia, perhaps as a mistake or what had been passed down to him. Daza is an Illyrian name; while Daia is not. The name is also not part of his imperial titles, so there is no real purpose in using it--just plain old Maximinus will do fine.

Partially horrible, but partially quite convincing.
For example, if I saw only this picture I couldn't tell if the coin is official or not.

I just got this neat example and it still has some silvering remaining.

Here's another ex Dr Malcolm Lyne. What is going on with Constantine's hand holding the spear...it's worse than AI generated hands!

Yes, the price did indeed go too far...but it's what it cost if you wanted to be the current owner.
