Constantius II Fel Temp from Antioch
« on: September 22, 2013, 01:59:49 PM »
There was a recent topic about a dot on an FTR coin ( Click for the topic ) and I just catalogued this example with an unlisted dot. It would be an otherwise common example of Antioch 191, except for the dot the mintmark.

It could be an engraving error, minting defect or perhaps an unlisted series.

Constantius II
A.D. 355- 361
16x17mm   2.6gm
DN CONSTANTIVS PF AVG, pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed.
FEL TEMP REPARATIO, Soldier spearing fallen horseman, M in left field.
In ex. dot ANS
Cf. RIC VIII Antioch 191
