Siscian VLPP barb 156
« on: November 24, 2021, 04:30:26 PM »
I just received this one. It is a terrible attempt at copying a VLPP, so I love it. On the reverse the shield is small and head level. The obverse helmet and shield have deeply engraved lines. The legends are complete gibberish and it has a good bit of silvering intact; which, unfortunately, makes photographing it tougher.

Constantine I
Circa A.D. 318
15x16mm     1.7g
[IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG] -- high crested helmet, cuir., [spear across r. shoulder,] shield on left arm.
[VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP] -- two Victories stg., facing one another, together holding shield [inscribed VOT PR] on altar.
