Siscian VIRTVS EXERCIT
« on: February 04, 2013, 08:11:04 PM »
I just got these two coins that are copying VIRTVS EXERCIT types from Siscia. One is a Crispus copy and the other is Constantine II.

Splendid. :o
Congratulations Victor, these coins look like art, to me. That makes a change from the usual VLPP from Siscia and the engravers seem to have taken up a challenge regarding the difficulty to reproduce such coins.
I think I won't get tired of watching them until a long time.
Thanks for sharing.

I don't see clearly, are there the double X on vexillum of the Constantine II coin or something else?

Yes, or at least two symbols that look similar to an X.

I just recently got this unofficial coin and at first thought it was a die match with the above Crispus copy. Obviously the same engrave, but pretty neat that they are so similar.
