This is a fairly new Ebay account, so maybe he doesn't know that these are fakes.

Cheap  :P

It is sad that he has had three offers already; but I guess the crooks need more fake coins to sell.

Victor

I am glad you contacted him, but it is a shame he did not believe you. So he is either a crook or stupid...or both.

It's been a while since I have seen any of these "Smederova Hoard" coins for sale, much less a collection of them. I don't think the seller is a crook, just clueless.

A couple of reappearances in the next M&M sale, lots 220 and 222 ... these will be popping up forever I suspect

Victor

Hopefully they will pull them quickly from the auction.

I got one of these in a cheap lot from an otherwise trustworthy seller a few years ago. I kept it as the other coins were fine and the cost was low. The flan looks and feels like an authentic coin (the scratches are odd), although fake.

These coins can be fairly deceptive, until you are familiar with them. The dies are not bad-- not good, but not bad either. They are also pressed, probably with some sort of hydraulic set up; versus struck.
