I just won this type that was issued by Carausius for Diocletian, Maximianus and himself. Carausius hoped the other two Emperors would recognize his claim to the throne; which didn't happen.


Maximian under Carausius - London - Pax AE Antoninianus 292-293 A.D. Struck under Carausius, London mint. Obv: IMP C MAXIMIANVS P F AVG legend with radiate and cuirassed bust right. Rev: PAX AVGGG legend with Pax standing left holding olive-branch and sceptre, S - P in fields; mintmark M L XXI in exergue. RIC v(ii), p.555, 34; Sear 13158. 3.79 grams. . Ex Shlomo Moussieff collection. Issued by Carausius in support of his claim to be a legitimate colleague of the emperors Diocletian and Maximian.
