I was looking through my trays and this coin is definitely the winner for being in the worst condition.

Constantine I
AD 307- 308
26x27mm   5.6g
IMP C CONSTANTINVS P F AVG; laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from rear.
VIRT PERP CONSTANTINI AVG; Virtus, holding Victory on globe, spear and shield; captive seated left.
In ex. PLC
RIC VI Lugdunum 285

Yeah, a tad beaten up, but still a good type to have.

I'm currently waiting for a coin from the same issue (Constantino B Rp Nat)... It left Spain over a month ago ... Registered mail, but apparently (not sure when this changed) not all registered mail from Spain (and a few other countries) gets tracked by the USPS, so all I know is that it left Spain. Maybe got eaten by a rat on the airplane, maybe it's sitting in NY customs - who knows.

Victor

Registered mail certainly isn't what it used to be. There are several countries that I mail to from the US and it's the same deal, no tracking or at best, sporadic tracking.

My worst is the last one entered in my collection.
I can not be sure about the id.... It's from the "P captive - captive L" issue?

Victor

Yes, it's P captives L, but not listed in RIC for the bust.

I checked Lech's page for an example and saw that yours is already listed--

Thanks Victor.
I sent the pictures to Lech at the same time I posted them here.

a new contender for worst--

Maximinus II
A.D. 305- 306
26x28mm     8.5g
MAXIMINVS NOB CAES; laureate helmeted, cuirassed bust left, with spear over right shoulder and shield on left arm.
VIRTVS AVGG ET CAESS NN, Prince on horseback, with shield on left arm, galloping right and spearing kneeling enemy, second enemy prostrate on ground.
In ex. AQΓ
RIC VI Aquileia 68b

Heliodromus

I've got a fairly dismal one of those too, and not even a nice bust type. It did only cost $13 back in 2008 though.

My Constantine one isn't so great either - stripped and patinated, and cost 10x as much.

I wish the reverse of my coin was as nice as either of yours.
