Constantine I GLORIA EXERCITVS from Arles...engraving problem

The obverse legend on this coin shows that the engraver had some difficulty. Notice the last letter in the legend, G of AVG, has been lowered and is a bit smaller, in an attempt to fit it all in. A neat coin that shows somebody had a rough day at work. I have seen a few examples where the end G almost blends into the bust, but this is the first example I can remember seeing that just lowered the G.

Looks like I also have one with lower G but not as nice as yours.  In Lincoln NE we had a pretty good view of the eclipse though a bit hazy.  On TV it looked like Nashville was a little cloudy.

Mark, it looks like the same guy engraved them.

We had a good view of the eclipse, there were some clouds, but they did not interefere with the viewing.
