Hello Victor, I'm not sure if you are already aware, but your Constantine the Great website was also difficult to access. I wasn't able to get into the webpage from my iPhone, until later I realised I could scroll down from image 1 and switch to web view, which then worked.

COTD / Constantine I GLORIA EXERCITVS...

I thought that this coin was interesting because, even though there is limited room, it looks like the engraver was depicting an adlocutio; as Constantine seems to be raising his arm. It's not really that rare; but just a neat little bit of engraving.

Lost/Stolen coins / Coins stolen out of mailbox
Last post by Victor - April 15, 2025, 03:28:56 PM
I had two packages consisting of three coins stolen out of my mailbox today. I almost always go to the post office; but was feeling lazy today, so I figured I would mail them from home. Over 20 years of living in this neighborhood and this has never happened before. My mailman cam up to talk to me, because the flag was up but nothing in the box. He said there were several complaints of stolen mail in the area. Lesson learned ALWAYS GO TO THE POST OFFICE. It would be nice if I saw these pop up on eBay in the future.

Other coins / Nerva FISCI IVDAICI CALVMNIA S...
Last post by Victor - April 15, 2025, 11:52:45 AM
This is a coin that I sold; but thought it was fairly interesting

Nerva.jpg

Nerva
A.D. 96- 98
Ӕ Sestertius
34x35mm     25.2g
IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P [COS II? P P]; laureate and draped bust right.
FISCI IVDAICI CALVMNIA SVBLATA; palm tree; S C across field.
RIC II Rome 72/82; Hendin 6634

After the victory of Vespasian over Judaea, he levied a tax called the fiscus Iudaicus. It was strictly enforced until Nerva relaxed the burden and did away with some of the harsher rules, but did not actually stop the tax; rather only those that professed to be Jewish were taxed.

Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (1852-1943) was the founder of the Battle Creek Sanitarium and inventor of the Corn Flake.
