Title: Tiny soldiers from Trier
Post by: Victor on May 20, 2016, 12:05:34 PM
This GLORIA EXERCITVS has some of the tiniest soldiers I have ever seen on an LRB. They are dwarfed by the standards. I would be tempted to call it an unofficial coin, but otherwise the style seems fine.

Constantius II
A.D. 332- 333
16x17mm   2.6gm
FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C; laureate and cuirassed bust.
GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS; Two soldiers helmeted, stg. facing one another, reversed spear in outer hands, inner hands on shields resting on the ground; between them two standards.
