the eBay seller saxbys-coins is a fairly well-known occasional seller of fakes which are always "British found"
he currently has three fake Julian II coins from the Cyzicus mint for sale. Recently, these coins have been turning up pretty often.
These fakes appear to be pressed (probably using hydraulics) rather than struck, indicated by (among other things) the often present large straight smooth flan cracks.
two more "British found" fakes
saxby has some more of these this week...maybe he is making them himself- if so, then the "British found" claim is true ;D
just one this week
2 more this week
another from saxbys and a second example from mikes-artefacts
fresh from saxbys
more bull from saxbys
Another one this week
two more just sold by Savoca. They don't usually sell fakes, but apparently did not know.
the first one sold for EUR 21.50 and the second EUR 8.50
