Title: gold-plated Helena

I just saw this one for sale on eBay. The seller describes it as “Helena Fouree Gold Solidus”  However, I think it is just as likely from the hole that this coin was only worn as jewelry and not meant to deceive someone. Of course, it could have been holed later after passing/or trying to pass as a real gold coin, but it would not have fooled anyone that gave it more than a casual look. RIC does not even list this type in gold from Heraclea, but maybe Depeyrot does.
