Title: fake widow's mite
Post by: Victor on August 22, 2025, 12:07:17 PM
I don't message many people about fakes, since most don't want to hear it. I messaged this seller about the fake widows mite she has listed and she didn't even respond.

my message--

Hello,

This is a reproduction of a widow's mite. This might not be the coin originally issued with the certificate or just another example of this company selling reproductions. If you google "aber & levine coin reproduction" you will see what I am talking about.

regards,
Victor

The listing also had several "documents" that were not related. One was from Aber & Levine, a company that uses reproductions in jewelry. Another was a COA for a widows mite, though no photo was attached, so you will never know what it was COA'ing. In the description the seller also states that it was certified by ICG; though it is clearly not slabbed.

the seller's response was articulate and well thought out...not  ::)

"Yea ok!!! I had this one checked out the certificate comes with it and it's real and legit so maybe your butt hurt over that I don't know what the hell your problem is, but it is what it is"
