Title: Constantine I, half follis MARTI CONSERVATORI
Post by: Nikko on January 12, 2020, 02:06:33 PM
A rarer half follis in nice condition.

CONSTANTINVS AVG, laureate, cuirassed, draped seen from rear.
MARTI CONSERVATORI, Mars standing right, holding spear and shield. PTR in exergue.
RIC VII TRIER 68, R5.
18mm, 2,4 gr

The attribution to RIC VII is probably incorrect. It should come before the short legend issue MARTI CONSERV listed in RIC VI.

I think these are an interesting denomination and it's a nice example.
