I just added these fake sellers to the fake seller’s list (http://www.lateromanbronzecoinforum.com/index.php?topic=1218.msg3487#msg3487)
I will update this topic as I add more.
maybe sellers with other eBay identities, as some of the backgrounds look familiar.
one from the UK galipetko0
http://www.ebay.com/usr/galipetko0
one from Bulgaria peioni-1
http://www.ebay.com/usr/peioni-1
one from Spain tomcoins
http://www.ebay.com/usr/tomcoins
I just added this seller from Spain s.p.q.r.2017
he has several fakes listed, including this Magnentius from Siscia.
http://www.ebay.com/usr/s.p.q.r.2017
I have added several new fake sellers including iliranche0
http://www.ebay.com/usr/iliranche0
I am adding david.alacant to the fake seller list. He has quite a few fakes currently for sale, including the Aelia Flaccilla below.
http://www.ebay.com/usr/david.alacant
this person has a lot of fakes for sell
http://www.ebay.com/usr/hauriga
a few below.
still adding them as I find them.
last week I added alex_numismatic_group
http://www.ebay.com/usr/alex_numismatic_group
this guy is from Serbia and his real name is Aleksandar Ejić. He lists a lot of common LRB's which are genuine, but also lists a lot of fakes -- see the well-known fake Crispus below.
today I added sherpa350
http://www.ebay.com/usr/sherpa350
this guy may not knowingly sell fakes, as he seems to sell a lot of different stuff, like world coins and stamps. I have added him just in case. The Otho below is a well documented fake he just sold.
a crook from Spain david.cardiff*
https://www.ebay.com/usr/david.cardiff*
selling a bunch of fakes. Below are an Otho and Laelianus "Muy Buena"
here is a brazen or stupid (maybe both) fakeseller with four of the same cast for sale at once.
a new eBayer from Bulgaria-- nevebele-0
https://www.ebay.com/usr/nevebele-0
just added a fakeseller from the UK
lots of terrible fakes including rarities like Balbinus, Brutus and Proculus
panantukanuk841
https://www.ebay.com/usr/panantukanuk841
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I have added this person to the fake seller list because he seems to be claiming to have found this "coin" while metal detecting. He sells mainly artifacts and jewelry though.
"great unresearched roman coin metal detecting detector finds"
jamesey123456
https://www.ebay.com/usr/jamesey123456
a new fake seller from Spain
es_tsve
https://www.ebay.com/usr/es_tsve
Maximianus medallion calmaximianus avg VII cons.9,31gr 33mm.RV iovisconse nvatoravgg.
a fake Julius Caesar from Bulgaria
https://www.ebay.com/usr/trew123410
three sellers below that seem to be the same person.
from the UK, celebrating his one year eBay anniversary by selling lots of fakes -- one example below, Gordian I. He is from Tranent, Scotland.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/skeletorians
another account from the UK, with a Clodius Albinus, also located in Tranent.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/violetadomina
and a third account also from UK (using a different color background though) in Tranent selling the Macrinus below.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/ruswars
I haven't been updating this topic much, but I just added another fakeseller -- lozano32
lots of fakes
https://www.ebay.com/usr/lozano32
monedas_sauron is a fake seller from Spain with lots of bad fakes.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/monedas_sauron
Going back to your post of 18 April, if I had a pound for every time I've seen that silver denarius of Julius Caesar with the elephant reverse for sale in mint condition on ebay, I'd be a wealthy man by now.
Fortunately, many of these fakes are offered so many times it gets easy to spot them.
here's a fakeseller from the UK with some pretty bad fakes...but people are still bidding on them.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/malcanders0n
thankfully, he does offer an unconditional guarantee! :D
Authenticity:
All items are unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine and they are described
in an exact and credible way taking their origins into consideration.
Should anyone not authorise the authenticity of the items purchased,
we will give you your money back in full !
All items have been purchased from collectors and auctions.
a fairly new fakeseller from Germany
lampsack_gallery
https://www.ebay.com/usr/lampsack_gallery
he even has a cute disclaimer--
"Please note that I am not a certified expert and it is possible to confuse the time and place of production of this item. My description is based on the information I received when I captured this item from its owner. You have 14 days to do your check."
another new fakeseller from Greece-- ivtas4
https://www.ebay.com/usr/ivtas4
some of his listing below with the orange background
I just added pana_nis to the list.
He sells mostly dodgy looking artifacts, but has some coins. A few look authentic, a few look fake. At least one negative feedback for selling a fake.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/pana_nis
this person is selling a lot of the same terrible fakes that you frequently see on eBay.
It's hard to feel sorry for the people that think this Eid Mar is genuine..."a fool and his money are soon parted"
I added him to the fakeseller list in October.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/ivtas4
I am adding this German seller to the list -- schaffrathnumis
https://www.ebay.com/usr/schaffrathnumis
I don't think that they are knowingly selling fakes, but they currently have a lot of poor cast coins/ fakes for sale. So many fakes, that even if it is a mistake, it is reckless and shows they probably do not care; but maybe they are merely clueless and usually sell modern coinage.
They also have a cast of a Paduan ( C CAESAR DICTATOR/ VENI VIDI VICI) , probably Giovanni Cavino (1500- 1570), which if it was an original strike would be collectible and worth some money, but this is a poor cast.
The last fake is hilarious. It is an impossible combination of Vetranio with a FEL TEMP reverse. ::) The galley coinage was never struck by Vetranio and this fake galley looks like it is attempting to copy a Western mintmark, while Vetranio only minted from two mints in the East- Siscia and Thessalonica.
this person claims this fake is "Part of my grandfathers collection." Maybe he does not know it is fake, but he is also selling some dodgy looking artifacts, also from "grandfathers collection"
https://www.ebay.com/usr/treasuredetector
lots of suspicious looking coins and antiquities.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/aurelius1962
See the fake Otacilia Severa, with several other fakes from the same dies.
He also sells a few coins which he has attributed as reproductions; which means he is definitely getting some fakes and admits it...sometimes.
Sometimes he lists coins which are clearly fake, but he merely says "reproduction??" see the fake Procopius.
next coin is a Lipanoff fake he sold, with the last picture what it looked like before the fake patina.
It is also interesting, that this person has Norway listed as his country, but when you win an auction, you get this message "Because of the new heavy prices in Norway for registered mail and tracking number mostly of my items are waiting on stock in Bulgaria, where I'm buying them from. In that reason your lot will be shipped from Bulgaria with registered mail and tracking number in secure reasons. If you have any problem with that please let me know and I will start cancel order procedure."
out of Cyprus havaiome2012
https://www.ebay.com/usr/havaiome2012
how about this one, looks a little to nice?
I could be wrong, looking at his sold listing they all look excellent, shiny (luster) with a little patina, but many are missing the little bumps around the edge
I think they are all very good looking casts. I hope I'm wrong because people are paying 100s for them, one guy bought well over ten coins from the guy.
There is no such thing as too nice. Many ancient coins are in mint state...a few are even FDC ( French for Fleur de Coin-- the best of the best). If this coin was cast, it would not look so sharp. The best fakes are struck, but I don't see anything obviously suspicious about this coin. Of course, it is really hard to authenticate good fakes from a picture alone...really good fakes fool people in hand.
The most obvious problem with this seller is the worthless COA's he sells.
worthless COA , LOL yup
just added sar.weiss-0 his old ID was aurum-coins24
https://www.ebay.com/usr/sar.weiss-0
your link is missing the -0
thanks

https://www.lateromanbronzecoinforum.com/index.php/topic,1421.msg3974.html#msg3974
they have toned down the rhetoric though. They merely say this about the fake below-
“2000 years old, Greece/Italy/unknown solid owl and Athena, traded as-is please; it's excellent, it's more than 19 grams, it is unknown, rare; bronze pewter silver; not solid silver for certain; it has been cleaned so not a coin to be graded; only science tested; this was owned by Howard Jackson of Buckeye Lake Ohio and it was his fathers; it was donatedTo us along with a few dozen other items;â€

https://www.ebay.com/usr/kycoinguy
the Augustus looks like a Lipanoff reproduction.
I looked through his feedback (last picture), and saw that he had purchased at least 6 times from a well-know fake seller (no longer active) saxbys-coins
another seller that I don't think is knowingly selling fakes-- donsm-1443
He has a bronze Alexander the Great listed for $600; but genuine examples of this coin were only struck in silver. I messaged him and said that it was a modern reproduction.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/donsm-1443
edit-- he responded back "Some struck on bronze"
these coins must be legit, the guy is wearing white cotton gloves! ;D
This seller from Israel had a bunch of terrible cheap tourist fakes for sell, but he thinks it is OK because he added--

same poor fakes that so many crooks sell on eBay -- they shouldn't fool anyone that has looked at a few genuine examples...but yet, someone will buy them.

he even had four of the example below for sale at the same time ::)
17 years ago, a bunch of fakes started showing up in uncleaned lots. These fakes were so terrible looking, the style was permanently burned into my brain :). They were very crude and by themselves would not fool many; which is why they were mainly mixed into uncleaned groups. This seller from Spain currently has some for sale. lolita.b-55

lukerce
https://www.ebay.com/usr/lukerce
a new seller from the UK with what look like Slavey reproductions.
He actually has these marked as replicas in the item specifics, but in the description makes no mention of replica...he states "Very nice and rare roman silver..." So, he is trying to trick people.
https://www.ebay.com/usr/angelsneverdie
this guy -- npk1973
https://www.ebay.com/usr/npk1973
is selling a lot of fakes. He has several groups of bronzes with five culls and in the center what looks like a large bronze in nice condition. He also has several fake silver coins.
I just noticed his name Nikolay Karamanliev and his old eBay ID was red-one73 which was changed from skeletorians. It is the same person as jim5658 vespasiana1981 and rainbowraw. So he is an experienced cheat.
ancientknights
this guy is selling a lot of fakes...a lot of medieval junk. Funny thing, he is selling a few authentic, like the Theodosius GLORIA ROMANORVM (last picture); which is in terrible condition and worth a dollar or two; but he has it starting at 150 GBP/ $194.

the fake Julius Caesar sold for $645.00
maybe this seller doesn't know, or doesn't really care. Some of his coins looked genuine, so maybe just an honest mistake. He did have this posted about the fake EID MAR "Small Denarius possibly made for use in jewelry, rings etc." So, I am not adding him to the fake seller list, merely making a topic and hopefully I remember to periodically check on him.
