Title: Constantine I VLPP from Siscia…unofficial issue
Post by: Victor on September 04, 2023, 04:41:16 PM
here's my latest unofficial VLPP. The bust is facing the wrong way and they forgot to engrave the shield/wreath over the altar. The "horse" on the shield is pretty funny.

Constantine I
Circa A.D. 318
18mm 2.9g
legend consisting of IIIII’s – bust right with helmet, cuir., spear across l. shoulder, shield inscribed with horseman on right arm
[VICTORIAE LAETAE PRINC PERP] -- two Victories stg., facing one another, [together holding shield inscribed VOT PR] on altar.
cf. RIC VII Siscia 56

I like these childish made VLPP where there is only one letter - I. At least it is impossible to confuse them with official coins.
