A very good imitative coin for Arles.

RIC252 is probably one of the most imitated coin for Arles mint (RICVII) but this one not appears frequently, I found only one other sample with this obverse legende but different mintmark (sold by forumancientcoins.com):

It is amazing how many good Arles imitations must have been in circulation at the time.

I am curious to know why especially this issue has been so imitated. Almost 30% of irregular coins from Arles in Lech Stepniewski's notinric are #252 or "#252 like". http://www.notinric.lechstepniewski.info/av7.html (http://www.notinric.lechstepniewski.info/av7.html).
