Title: Julian II with SALVS reverse
Post by: Victor on September 02, 2013, 04:23:29 PM
This unusual item is being offered for sale for 1800 Euros. The obverse is Julian II (but looks a bit strange), while the reverse is a SALVS REIPVBLICAE type. I believe this is some sort of modern invention, as there is no real way that these two should or could have been paired. The reverse also looks like the SALVS type was overstruck by the votive type, (even though the Vows in the center are missing). It is 19mm and 3.4gms.
