Title: Diocletian aurelianus from Lyon not in Bastien
Post by: Genio popvli romani on August 18, 2017, 12:29:32 PM
Here is an aurelianus from the fourth emission from Lyon (3,3g - 20-23mm). It is not in Bastien with this obverse legend IMP C C VAL DIOCLETIANVS P AVG. Should come after #137.
I don't know if it is in supplément 1 or 2 but it confirms the #137 note which indicates that Voetter had mentioned such a legend for this bust in the fourth emission with no workshop number.

Nice !
But I believe that I'll never find to which coin Voetter referred to. He gave not much reference or source about the specimens he mentioned in "Die Kupferprägungen der Diocletianischen Tetrarchie"
