Title: Constantine I unlisted votive from Ticinum with consular bust.
Post by: Victor on November 18, 2012, 03:05:38 PM
This is an unlisted bust type (K3) and should come after RIC VII Ticinum 143. I have seen another example, but this one is pretty sharp.

Congratulations.
What is very interesting with this coin, is that there is no K bust type listed, at all,  for Ticinum mint in RIC.
And I don't remember to have ever seen a Constantine votive reverse associated with a consular bust for any mint. This consular bust, with scipio, is typical from Trier and London mints, particularly present on BEATA TRANQVILLITAS and at a lower level on VIRTVS EXERCIT issues.
A very great find.

I didn't win this one. It sold for more than I was willing to spend.
