Title: Constantine I anepigraphic from Nicomedia
Post by: Victor on April 10, 2024, 11:05:01 AM
this coin has a workshop not listed in RIC. It sold for quite a price also-- £1,100 in the latest Roma auction...quite a bump from 180 euros in a Sol auction in 2023.

Could be an imitation? Lettering is uneven and bust style is a bit crude to my eye

I think that it is official. Lots of the anepigraphic coins have cruder busts and sloppy legends. The size and weight are also good.
