Title: Ae3 Jovian - hybrid (Gloria Romanorum)
Post by: Al.cofribas on June 06, 2021, 03:21:11 PM
2,8 g - 19 mm

Hello,
Last week, I received that coin for Jovian with the type known for Valentinians. Could it be a fake?

Thanks
Al

Though nothing immediately looks wrong, I would certainly be suspicious of it. You should make sure the patina has not been recently applied by soaking it in acetone for a while.

Thank you Victor.

I still doubt its authenticity. it seems that there are 2 successive dots before the césure (IOVIAN dot dot - VS PF AVG) which could correspond to missing letters.
