Title: Constantine I LIBERATOR ORBIS
Post by: Victor on January 07, 2013, 07:08:50 PM
I just saw this one for sale. It is not in RIC, but examples are known from all four officinae (P,S,T,Q). Interestingly, this issue is in Maurice, but Bruun somehow did not include it in RIC VII.

Constantine I
circa A.D. 315
22mm    2.3gm
IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG, bust r., laureate, draped and cuirassed.
LIBERATOR ORBIS [The Liberator of the World], Emperor galloping r. over lion, r. raised.
In exergue R*P

It should come after RIC VII Rome 17

Victor, do you know who is the seller?
This specific coin appeared on Forvm some weeks ago by a bulgarian user. Then, she sold the coin after a few days to an unknow user.
I think we should pay attentio to this listing.

Yes, I remember the post from FORVM. It is being sold by someone on E-bay with zero feedback.

A follow-up, it seems the seller is very unreliable with many negative feedbacks left. It looks like this coin was never sent to the winning bidder, but maybe they were refunded.
The seller's name was iradu9gmailcom2012 and here is a link     Feedback Page (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=iradu9gmailcom2012&ftab=AllFeedback&myworld=true)

EDIT--The seller is no longer a registered user on Ebay. They also had a lot of shill bidding on their account, 12 negatives and 11 positives. The positive feedback were all left by the same 3-4 accounts that also had very low feedback.
