Title: New bust type for RIC VII Cyzicus 58?
Post by: tjaart on January 09, 2016, 05:15:38 AM
Dear all,

I recently bought the following campgate and I am struggling to find the RIC number for it.

Constantine I
CONSTAN-TINVS AVG
Laureate bust right,
PROVIDEN-TIAE AVGG
Campgate, 6 layers, 2 turrets, star above, no door,
SMK gamma
Cyzicus
329-330AD?
18mm, 3.25g

When looking in RIC VII (only a PDF) I cannot find that combination. The closest I can get is RIC VII CYzicus 58 but they do not list a Laureate bust. I could also not find it in the "Not in RIC" website.

Is this truly an unlisted type or am I imagining things?

Thanks!
Tjaart

Thanks! I knew I must have missed something somewhere. I am still figuring out how to use the RIC volumes instead of just looking up numbers on the web.

Thanks again!

I am still figuring out how to use the RIC volumes instead of just looking up numbers on the web.

I often use on-line references (copy and paste is so easy) and have been led astray on more than one occasion. I try to always verify everything with the actual reference.
