Title: More coin mail
Post by: Heliodromus on January 14, 2022, 11:49:27 AM
It seems half the time with this hobby the mail is as interesting as the coin inside (or is it just me ?!).

Here's one I just got today from an eBay seller in Italy. Kind of surprised to see individuals selling there given the paperwork requirement.

Anyway, seems the seller had it all ready to go in this padded envelope, with nice picture stamps on both sides, and the post office attached this bulky plastic bag containing 5 identical copies of the customs declaration. I stamps underneath the bad were unfranked.

The coin inside was nothing particularly special - RIC VI Lyons 257 for Daia. Not particular rare, nor particularly common.

I get a fair amount of packages coming from Europe with an odd assortment of stamps. The only one I have ever saved though is this one (which I have posted before) from a guy in the US.
