Constantine I VIRTVS EXERCIT from Lyons
« on: April 08, 2016, 08:23:04 AM »
This coin is not listed in RIC for this bust type. It is a K3 left bust (laureate bust left, wearing trabea, eagle tipped scepter in right hand). Though this bust type is not in RIC for this series, Bastien has examples for Constantine II. Since Constantine II and Constantine I were both consul in A.D. 320, it is no surprise that this bust type would exist for him as well. It should come after Lyons 115.
