Constans GLORIA EXERCITVS from Arles with chi-rho
« on: April 01, 2016, 08:30:41 AM »
In RIC, Arles 384 is an r5 but apparently the workshop was not legible, because a question mark is listed; so this one is technically not in RIC.  :D

Ferrando lists three from the second workshop, but none from the first.

Constans
A.D. 334

FL IVL CONSTANS NOB C; bust laureate, draped and cuirassed seen from the rear.
GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS; Two soldiers helmeted, stg. facing one another, reversed spear in outer hands, inner hands on shields resting on the ground; between them two standards with chi-rho between them.
