Constantinopolis Commerative from Arles
« on: August 03, 2015, 03:24:11 PM »
RIC does not list a pellet over any of the field marks for the Arles Constantinopolis series. Perhaps it is only an engraving error, as the wreath is sitting low...maybe it was meant to be higher in the field. The large dot may have been originally engraved as a guide where to carve the dot in wreath, but something was lost in the translation.
