Crispus VLPP from Lyons with victory on globe
« on: June 13, 2015, 09:06:53 AM »
This is a rare bust type [I9] and RIC does not list an example for Crispus and only one noted for Constantine I.

Here is another example- http://www.forumancientcoins.com/notinric/7lyo-75.html

Crispus
A.D. 319- 320
18x21mm     3.8gm
DN CRISPO NOB CAES; high-crested helmet and cuirassed bust left, Victory on globe in right hand.
VICTORIAE LAET PRINC PERP; two Victories facing one another, holding shield inscribed VOT/PR over altar.
In ex. two captives back to back
RIC VII Lyons --

Nice catch for you and another one for my VLPP want-list - Seems that every time I get one of the boxes ticked another one pops up...
