Constantine II BEATA from Trier with imperatorial gestus
« on: May 07, 2015, 05:10:14 PM »
This coin is not in RIC for the L1 bust, but is listed for L2 (but not for this workshop); the difference being L2 is not draped. I am pretty sure there is drapery showing, plus it looks a lot like the example on Lech’s page-- http://www.forumancientcoins.com/notinric/7tri-386.html
The mintmark on the linked page is dot PTR dot though, no crescent.

This coins should be listed before RIC VII Trier 386. It is in Alten & Zschucke’s Die römische Münzserie Beata Tranquillitas as #127
