Trier/Ticinum campgate

Here is an unofficial campgate that is only 12mm, copying either a Trier or Ticinum issue

Possibly from the same engraver. At the first view,  I believed that you had found a reverse die match with my campgate which is 15mm and 2.2g (in deed, not). The one you show seems to be for Crispus too.

Hi all,

Would you mind sharing what the features are that make it unofficial? The only thing I could pick up on was that the mintmark is unknown. Is there anything specific about the style that gives it away?

If anyone ever sees one of these, please let me know. I was the underbidder on this coin and unhappy not to have won it.

Thanks!
Tjaart

As far as I remember, there is no campgate for Crispus struck at Ticinum mint, IVL CRISPVS... does not appear at Ticinum, there is no (only) laureate head for Crispus' Providentiae Caess at Trier mint and no IVL CRISPVS... legend for Providentiae Caess.
The bust does not look official and the R of PROVIDENTIAE is a N.
Wheight and diameter are not corresponding to official features. If wheight can be greatly varying, diameter should be a good data and if you check the pic below, you will see that there is something wrong (and my coin is 15mm, not 12mm).

Thank you for the detailed reply. I really appreciate it. I must admit that the style of the engraving is quite well done.

Thanks,
