Constantine I VIRTVS AVGG ET CAESS NN from Aquileia
« on: January 24, 2015, 09:54:01 AM »
Here is an unlisted coin in the Holyland auction. RIC VI lists this type only for Severus and Maximinus (no.’s 72 & 73). Lech has the example from Paolucci & Zub’s The Roman Imperial Coinage of Aquileia on his page-

Constantine I
A.D. 305- 306
27mm   7.5gm
CONSTANTINVS NOB CAES, laureate head right. Reverse:
VIRTVS AVGG ET CAESS NN, Emperor helmeted, in military dress, standing left, holding spear, shield and Victory; on left, captive seated on ground.
In ex. AQΓ
