Nice wreath, shame about the vexilla !

Just saw this amusing (& informative) coin on eBay ...

Evidentially the wreath issue mark on the reverse die was engraved first, before the rest of the design, then the engraver made a bad decision to put wide vexilla on the standards but didn't have room because of the wreath!

Makes sense though that a central element like these issue marks would be done first, to divide up the remaining space.
