Here is a nice coin that sold yesterday. I bid 700 EUR but was not even close the final 1800 EUR



CONSTANTINE I 'THE GREAT' (307/10-337). Follis. Londinium.

Obv: IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG.
Helmeted and cuirassed bust left, holding spear and shield.
Rev: SOLI INVICTO COMITI / T - F / PLN.
Sol standing left, holding globe, raising right hand.

Very rare

Condition: Near extremely fine.

Weight: 4.77 g.
Diameter: 25 mm.

Same coin in fact.

There's evidentially a few people out there right now who REALLY want these London rarities!

There are 4 specimens of this type that I'm aware of - there's one in Cloke-Toone, this one that just sold, mine below, and another poor one that sold on eBay.

They all share the same obverse die. The shield decoration is interesting - it appears to show top half of three helmettted soldiers marching left.

Well, I thought that I really wanted this coin...but several people wanted it much more than me.
