Struggling to identify mint in exergue of campgate
« on: September 08, 2019, 02:38:17 PM »
Hi all,

due to family life I haven't had time to catch up on coins. Below I have a campgate but I am not sure of the mint. Is it SMH gamma (which is unlisted as far as I can tell), or is it another SMHA or SMHB?

Constantine I
IMP CONSTA-NTINVS AVG
LD-G-SC-M left
PROVIDEN-TIAE AVGG
Campgate, 3 turrets, 6 layers, no star, no doors, dot over dot in right,
SMH?
RIC VII Heraclea 33
18mm, 3.0g

Thanks!

family has a way of getting in the way of coins  :D

I think your workshop is B, just poorly formed due to a striking error.

Agree, it should be a B as this was the main officina minting for Constantine I in Heraclea
