Constantine I MARTI CONSERVATORI from Ticinum
« on: February 14, 2013, 03:10:24 PM »
This one just sold on E-bay for 108 Euros. It is unlisted in RIC, but it is actually an error. The field marks */+ are listed in Kent's “The Pattern of Bronze Coinage Under Constantine I.” NC  17 (1957) : 16-77, but Bruun said that it was not verified. The field marks +/* were used for the SOLI INVICTO type, but the MARTI type reversed the field marks.

I think that we can not completely exclude the possibility that a MARTI with field mark +/* comes out.

Of course it is possible, just as one might also expect a SOL INVICTO with field marks of */+
