Constantius I VOT/XX/SIC/XXX fractional from Trier
« on: March 05, 2019, 10:17:13 AM »

Here’s a rare type I just got in a group of coins. It is a fractional issue from Trier. “Their ‘vota’ reverses commemorate the joint vicennalia and decennalia of the Augusti and Caesars in and after 302.” (RIC VI pg 150) It also has traces of silvering.

Constantius I
A.D. 303
14x15mm   1.5gm
Ӕ fraction
CONSTA-NTIVS N C; laureate head right.
VOT/XX/SIC/XXX in four lines in wreath.
RIC VI Trier 614a
