Cast fakes ?
« on: October 14, 2021, 06:19:23 PM »
Pretty much everything this seller has listed, at least all the LRBs, looks very suspect. I'm assuming they are cast fakes - a very odd looking bunch of coins. Are people really going to this much trouble for mostly common coins ?!

What do you think ?

I added this guy to the fake seller list in March of this year. I believe that he has several accounts on eBay selling the same junk. This account (vetoni86) is from Cheltenham, and coincidentally this fake seller (4erepa) is also from there.

There are two other accounts that sell the same garbage cast coins (vintage_items925 & bisdimi_60) out of Bristol, but they must also be affiliated as they have all sold some of the exact same cast fakes.

Those are from a different source - struck from modern dies.

The ones vetoni86 are selling are casts based on genuine coins. It seems someone put a lot of effort into fake patinas and photography, and less into the actual casting process!
