Canon EOS Rebel setup
(1/1)
Victor:
This picture is the setup I use with a DSLR Canon EOS Rebel. I have a 100mm lens and use two 45w daylight bulbs. I also have a remote release to help avoid camera shake. I have tried various settings on the camera, but so far have liked the preset macro setting the best.
I have David Busch's book on this camera and I also found the book by Mark Goodman (Numismatic Photography 2nd ed.) very useful.
I am still experimenting with settings and lighting though, but I am getting OK results so far.
Victor:
I am using a light cube now and a fluorescent ring light. The light cube does a good job diffusing the light and eliminates a lot of glare. I also have a LED ring light, but don't really like it for most coins; but I believe that it works OK with silver coins.
Vikapolyak:
I just sold my very old Canon rebel XSi for 250 and placed an pre-order on a Canon T6S which is being released end of this month. I cant wait

let us know how it works...I have been debating on whether I should get a new camera, though mine is only about 4 years old; but I'm wondering if the newer models are better enough than mine to justify getting a new one.
